EcomViper is a merchant-submitted product intelligence platform. Our goal is to help present product information in a clear, responsible, structured, and AI-ready format while reducing the risk of misleading, unsupported, unsafe, or non-compliant product claims.
1. Purpose of This Policy
This Claim Review Policy is intended to explain how EcomViper may review, organize, edit, limit, or remove product-related claims.
Product claims may appear in product descriptions, benefit cards, ingredient explanations, FAQs, product comparisons, product summaries, marketplace descriptions, structured data, AI-readable product information, merchant-submitted documents, public product pages, or supporting educational content.
EcomViper may apply claim review processes before or after content is published. We may also update or remove content when new information becomes available.
2. Merchant Responsibility
Merchants are responsible for the accuracy, legality, ownership, substantiation, and compliance of the product information they submit or authorize for publication.
Merchant-submitted information may include product names, descriptions, images, ingredients, benefits, product claims, labels, certificates, marketplace links, shipping information, FAQs, supporting sources, and other materials.
EcomViper may help structure, enrich, summarize, review, or publish merchant-submitted information, but merchants remain responsible for ensuring that their products, labels, advertising, product claims, marketplace listings, and supporting materials comply with applicable laws, regulations, and platform rules.
3. What We Consider a Product Claim
For purposes of this policy, a product claim includes any statement, phrase, implication, comparison, visual, or structured data point that describes what a product is, does, supports, contains, improves, affects, or is suitable for.
Examples may include claims about product benefits, ingredients or formulation, wellness support, health-related effects, performance or results, quality/purity/safety, certifications or testing, comparisons to other products, suitability for a shopper goal, shipping/fulfillment/availability, marketplace status, or customer experience/product use.
Claims may be direct or implied. A claim may appear in human-readable page content, metadata, structured data, AI-readable summaries, FAQs, tables, tags, or product intelligence fields.
4. Claim Review Goals
EcomViper’s claim review process is designed to support clear product information, responsible benefit language, reduced risk of misleading statements, better alignment between claims and supporting information, safer wording for supplements/wellness/sensitive categories, improved consistency across product pages, better AI-agent understanding, and appropriate disclaimers/context where needed.
Our review process is not a legal approval, regulatory certification, medical review, scientific endorsement, or guarantee of compliance.
5. Claim Categories
EcomViper may classify claims by risk level or content type.
Low-risk product facts are basic facts such as product name, brand, capsule count, serving size, flavor, format, package size, marketplace URL, or listed price.
Benefit and use-case claims describe what a product is generally intended to support, such as “supports digestive wellness,” “helps maintain hydration,” or “designed for daily use.”
Ingredient or component claims describe ingredients, materials, formulation, dosage, concentration, sourcing, or product composition.
Quality, testing, or certification claims include statements about third-party testing, certificates of analysis, lab testing, manufacturing standards, certifications, purity, safety, or compliance.
Comparative claims compare one product, brand, formulation, ingredient, price, benefit, feature, or marketplace option against another.
Sensitive or high-risk claims may include disease-related claims, treatment claims, cure claims, prevention claims, guaranteed-result claims, safety guarantees, exaggerated performance claims, or claims involving regulated categories. EcomViper may decline, rewrite, limit, flag, or remove sensitive or high-risk claims.
6. Dietary Supplement and Wellness Claim Standards
For dietary supplements, wellness products, functional foods, and similar categories, EcomViper aims to avoid language that implies a product diagnoses, treats, cures, or prevents disease unless such language is legally permitted and properly supported.
EcomViper may prefer structure/function-style language such as “supports digestive health,” “helps maintain normal immune function,” “designed to support daily wellness,” “may help support a healthy routine,” or “formulated with ingredients commonly used for [general wellness goal].”
EcomViper may avoid or remove language such as “treats disease,” “cures illness,” “prevents infection,” “reverses a medical condition,” “guaranteed results,” “clinically proven” without support, “doctor-approved” without documentation, “safe for everyone,” or “no side effects” without support.
7. AI-Assisted Claim Review
EcomViper uses artificial intelligence, automation, structured data processing, and internal intelligence systems to help identify, organize, rewrite, and review claim-sensitive content. AI-assisted systems may help detect claim-sensitive language, identify high-risk phrases, suggest claim-safe wording, match product claims to supporting sources, generate benefit explanations, organize ingredient and product intelligence, produce AI-readable summaries, and flag content for review.
AI-assisted review is not perfect. It may miss issues, over-flag content, under-flag content, or produce incomplete interpretations. EcomViper may review, revise, approve, reject, or remove AI-assisted content at any time.
8. Supporting Sources and Documentation
EcomViper may consider supporting information when reviewing claims, including product labels, supplement facts panels, ingredient lists, certificates of analysis, third-party testing documents, merchant-submitted documentation, marketplace listings, public product pages, research references, manufacturer materials, regulatory/compliance-related materials, and other relevant source materials.
The presence of a source does not mean EcomViper guarantees the claim, verifies the source, or certifies compliance. Sources may be incomplete, outdated, merchant-provided, limited in scope, or unavailable. EcomViper may require additional documentation before publishing or maintaining certain claims.
9. How Claims May Be Edited
EcomViper may revise claim language to make it clearer, safer, more accurate, or more appropriate for public product discovery. Edits may include replacing disease-treatment language with general wellness support language, removing unsupported superlatives, adding context or limitations, removing guaranteed-result language, clarifying that benefits may vary, separating merchant claims from EcomViper summaries, adding disclaimers, removing unsupported/high-risk claims, or rewriting AI-generated content to better reflect source materials.
EcomViper may make these changes at its discretion and is not obligated to preserve merchant-submitted wording exactly as submitted.
10. Claims EcomViper May Reject or Remove
EcomViper may reject, remove, suppress, or require revision of content that appears false, misleading, deceptive, unsupported, inconsistent with labels/source documents, high-risk, disease-treatment/cure/prevention-oriented, guaranteed-result-oriented, a safety guarantee, a protected/regulated category claim requiring review, an unauthorized use of third-party intellectual property, inconsistent with policies, potentially harmful to shoppers, or misleading to AI systems.
EcomViper may also remove or revise claims when a merchant requests an update, a correction is reported, a source changes, or new information becomes available.
11. No Certification or Legal Approval
EcomViper’s claim review process does not mean that a product, claim, merchant, source, or page is legally approved, regulator-approved, medically reviewed, scientifically proven, certified, endorsed, or guaranteed.
EcomViper does not provide legal, medical, regulatory, scientific, or professional advice. Merchants should consult qualified legal, regulatory, scientific, medical, or compliance professionals regarding their product claims and obligations.
12. Product Page Corrections and Claim Review Requests
If you believe a product page contains an inaccurate, outdated, unsupported, misleading, or high-risk claim, you may request a review.
For general product corrections, contact [email protected]. For legal, claim-sensitive, privacy, intellectual property, or compliance-related concerns, contact [email protected].
Please include the EcomViper page URL, product name, specific claim or section at issue, a clear explanation of your concern, your relationship to the product/merchant/content, and supporting documentation or source material.
EcomViper may review the request and may update, remove, limit, decline, or maintain the content at its discretion.
13. Updates and Ongoing Review
Product information, marketplace listings, source materials, regulations, merchant documentation, and product availability may change over time. EcomViper may update, revise, remove, or republish product claims and product intelligence at any time. We are not obligated to notify users of every claim review, correction, edit, or removal.
14. Relationship to Other Policies
This Claim Review Policy should be read together with our Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, Disclaimer, Affiliate Disclosure, and Editorial Policy. If there is a conflict between this Claim Review Policy and another EcomViper policy, EcomViper may interpret and apply the policies in the manner it believes is most appropriate for safety, compliance, product accuracy, and responsible product discovery.
